NSA holds sailboat races throughout the summer. We start with the Shakedown Regatta, followed by the July series and August series, which are on Sundays. We also have a fourth of July Race and a Labor Day Race. Half way through the summer we hold the Paulie Powers Race which encourages those who do not normally race and the younger kids to get involved with the sport.
The racing is open to all Family, Associate and Junior members of Namequoit Sailing Association. (see Membership for details on membership).
Most boats are eligible to race with the handicap system. Most of the boats that participate are 18 and below. We have some good fleet racing with the Baybirds, the 14' Cats and the 15' to 18' Cats. Each of which get their own starts. Other boats that participate are the Beetles, 420's, Flying Scots, Daysailors, Sunfish, and others. All are welcome and if there is enough interest with a particular fleet we will accommodate them with their own start.
The Race instructions along with map and race schedule are posted at the clubhouse.
Also look for info on Racing Rules Seminars and possible Team Racing during the week.
